Synopsis : Parce qu'elle souhaite fuir ses problèmes matrimoniaux, Anna visite l'Ile de Jersey. Elle y fait la connaissance de George Dabernon. Il vit avec son frère et ils sont les derniers descendants d'une ancienne famille de nobles.
